Laura found the STOTT PILATES® method while dancing with the California Ballet in San Diego, CA. As a professional dancer, Laura has always been drawn to movement, so Pilates seemed to be the natural fit. It was the anatomy and science behind the method that really got her hooked. Laura received her Level 1 certification and training in 2005 at the STOTT PILATES® Licensed Training Center in San Diego. In 2006, Laura moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she became an instructor for Inspire Health.
In 2007 she received her Level 2 certification. While working at Inspire Health, Laura had the unique opportunity of working closely with physical therapists using the STOTT PILATES® method in the rehab and post rehab setting. This broad experience lends her the ability to work with people at any end of the spectrum, whether recovering from injury, managing pain, athletic training or anything in between.
In 2008 Laura became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor Trainer for Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels. Since then she has been instructing STOTT PILATES® certification courses and continuing education workshops for STOTT PILATES® Licensed Training Centers and Host Sites across the Southeast.
In April of 2010, Laura and her family moved to Franklin, TN. She has enjoyed getting to know the Nashville community by instructing at local pilates studios over the last few years. Laura is now very excited to be returning to the environment of working closely with Physical Therapists and providing great care at P3.

“I began working with Laura over four years ago. I had no previous experience with Pilates but after my first session, I felt realigned, focused and more flexible. Laura’s extensive Pilates background and insight into the human body sets her in a league of her own. She has the keenest eye for detail and pays close attention to our sessions, making sure I’m doing the exercises correctly. I have never walked out of a session where I didn’t learn something new. I believe, as a dancer, Laura has a unique understanding of how the human body can and should move correctly.
“Laura makes every session challenging, therapeutic and fun! Additionally, she is the nicest person and conducts all of her sessions with the utmost professionalism. Because of Laura, Pilates is now a part of my lifestyle. She simply is the best!” ~ Shannon K (Atlanta, GA)
“For the last five years I assumed I would eventually end up having surgery on my cervical spine. Neuro surgeons suggested “titanium wedges” or “artificial discs” during consultations. I was referred to Heather Cole, PT, who worked with me and who then referred me to Laura Hicks for further instruction in Pilates. Now after less than a year I am feeling strong, with much less pain and much more mobility. The thing that makes Laura truly extraordinary is that she understands anatomy in such a way that she’s able to adjust any movement on the mat or the reformer to accommodate my individual limitations. I cannot believe I am able to do the things I can do now. Not only is her program helping me attain an unexpected level of fitness, it’s like dancing. It makes me feel beautiful. It is not an overstatement to say it has changed my life. Instead of surgery and decline, I look forward to my 60’s and 70’s getting stronger and more fit every year.” ~ Sheri C (Nashville, TN)
