Erica Carps, PT, DPT
Erica Carps received her Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of North Dakota then continued on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Mary in 2016. Although Erica was born and raised in North Dakota, since physical therapy school she found a passion in submerging herself in other cultures through medicine practicing as a traveling physical therapist. After living in several states, Erica and her husband have developed a love for Nashville and have happily settled here.
From an early age, Erica never found herself pulled toward one sport but rather an appreciation for multiple. She found she was always at her happiest when she was performing some sort of movement, this led to a developing interest in the underlying physiology that drives us and a passion for the biomechanics that puts that science into motion. A desire to apply this knowledge in a role that positioned her closest to the patient, allowing her to build a relationship while also empowering the patient to pursue a better health and wellness lifestyle for themselves is really what drew her into the profession. With most of her experience in sports medicine and orthopedics, Erica has developed a special interest in treating pregnancy/postpartum patients, along with all other female athletes. She has completed several sports medicine and orthopedic courses ranging from manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, running gait, to sports nutrition – Erica is passionate about treating the whole patient for their individual needs.
Erica enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and whatever physical activity she can get herself into. In her downtime she is usually snuggled up on the couch with her Labrador Retriever Kiba and watching the newest Netflix or Amazon prime show with her husband.
